Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG

Customer information convinces

Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG and TechnoAlpin, in partnership with the Arber Bergbahn mountain railway, hosted the first ever “Technician Event” for German customers. Doppelmayr also supported this project with simultaneous knowledge forums and experience exchanges.

Impressions from the Arber, Germany and Bansko, Bulgaria.

The agenda consisted of concise information on all areas that confront operations and workshop managers and virtually all staff on a daily basis. From the initial covering with artificial snow right through to piste preparation... Georg Eisath, president of TechnoAlpin, reported on the correct snow quality for every application. Günter Troy, German sales director for Doppelmayr, talked about the new guidelines governing cable cars and how they can be put into practice. Arno Schweiger, safety engineer and snow-machine expert, talked about safety at work during the snowmaking process. He showed numerous examples of the critical points in the process, and explained how these can easily be avoided with care and attention. Which PistenBully should be used for which situation? Wolfgang Lutz, area sales manager for Kässbohrer, showed how the different products are suited to the most diverse range of applications. Reto Sporrer from Lionhead Snowconsulting, which has enriched the PistenBully FunPark-Camp experience for several years, talked about the planning, construction and maintenance of FunParks. His speech also took into account safety aspects and the economic considerations of funding a terrain park.

Towards evening there were practical tips on location at the Arber mountain railway base station. Within the scope of a factory tour, the snow machines (naturally made by TechnoAlpin) and the PistenBully fleet were examined by the experts. All participants paid tribute to Mr. Thomas Liebl, operations manager of the Arber Bergbahn mountain railway, for his demonstration.

There was detailed information on the use of the winch on the PistenBully 300 Polar. Florian Gebhardt, who has been demonstrating PistenBully machines for several years and is also responsible for showing the customer on site how to use them, gave helpful tips on how to check the cable without difficulty.

Operations and workshop managers and other staff made long journeys to receive first-hand information. Whether from the Sauerland, Rhön, Allgäu or the very well represented Thuringia and Saxony, no journey was too far.

The organisers from Kässbohrer and Technoalpin were able to welcome 130 participants to the Arber. The end result of the exhibition – contentment on the participants’ faces. The organisers were delighted that they were able to fulfil expectations.

The mix of theory and practice has already proved itself year-in year-out at the annual Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG FunPark camps. Direct and personal contact on site is beneficial for customers and the company alike. Such active experience exchanges produce new ideas again and again, which can often be put into practice.

Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG pursues this concept on an international level. At the same time, for example, a demonstration was taking place in Bansko, the showcase ski area in Bulgaria. 63 guests came from Greece and Bulgaria to Bansko, where they not only received important information on vehicle technology, service and availability of spare parts for the PistenBully 300 winch gear but also saw a PistenBully 200 in action. It goes without saying that the participants were also allowed to take the wheel themselves, to put the PistenBully through its paces.

Theoretical and practical information leads to comprehensive knowledge.

Direct, continual dialogue with the customers is the basis for the success of the PistenBully. Every day presents a new challenge, and the aim is always to give the customers the best possible support in their work.
