Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG

Full steam ahead for Kässbohrer production!

PistenBully – while stocks last.

Franz Beer, Kässbohrer’s Head of Production, pulls out all the stops to ensure that each and every customer receives his PistenBully in time for Christmas.

Laupheim, 16th November 2005.  It’s all systems go on the production line in Laupheim. The high demand for PistenBully machines has to be met – Kässbohrer’s Head of Production Franz Beer and his team have their work cut out.

Since early September, production at Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG has been running flat out. Between the beginning of December and the end of January, another 120 PistenBully vehicles for the 2005/06 season have to be built. An increase in production in the second half of the year is entirely normal on account of the seasonal nature of the business. Kässbohrer’s suppliers have also long been accustomed to this working practice. This year, however, the number of PistenBully machines still to be produced has exceeded the previous year’s high total. Saturday working has been introduced, Christmas leave has been cancelled and the Kässbohrer plant in Laupheim will even work one or two bank holidays. The bottom line is that all our customers want their PistenBully in time for Christmas. Unfortunately, there are already a few cases in which this will not be possible, for Kässbohrer is virtually “sold out”.

The high output is only possible thanks to Kässbohrer’s highly flexible production methods. The basis of this flexibility is an annual working time model: the overtime accrued in the months September – January is offset by reduced working hours in the spring. Despatch is also put under considerable strain: in December, up to 15 vehicles per day leave the factory in Laupheim for delivery across the world.

Last season, around 1,000 PistenBully machines were sold. The situation this season will be much the same. Well in excess of 600 new and some 400 used PistenBully vehicles send a very clear message. They speak volumes about the reliability of PistenBully machines, their high availability and excellent service – and hence the high satisfaction amongst PistenBully customers.

So how do we keep track of the quantity required, individual specification and delivery deadlines of all these PistenBully machines? The scheduling, which has to be organised in the spring, is like looking into a crystal ball. Continual schedule adjustments to accommodate new orders are unavoidable and present a real challenge!

There can only be one No. 1!

The PistenBully team has long led the field. This continual striving for perfection is what makes the Kässbohrer team stand out from the rest. Reliability and accountability in what we do are important factors for mutual trust in the business relationship between manufacturer and customer. Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG is concentrating all its resources on further developing the product range. A close working relationship with customers worldwide ensures the quality of Kässbohrer product development, and places the focus on giving the maximum advantage to the customer. And quality is king. Not only in the development process, but also in production, original spare parts and top-class service.

Franz Beer, Kässbohrer’s Head of Production, pulls out all the stops to ensure that each and every customer receives his PistenBully in time for Christmas.

In December, up to 15 PistenBully units are shipped each day.

A place in the sun for the powerful PistenBully.
