The PRINOTH® Used Vehicle Fair 2005 - another big success for the company from Sterzing

Record number of visitors at the 2005 PRINOTH® used vehicle fair. Once again, PRINOTH® invited customers and journalists from around the world to the 2005 used vehicle fair in Sterzing-Unterackern. PRINOTH® set a new record with more than 300 visitors, in spite of wind and rain, because participants didn’t want to miss being a part of this occasion, which has become an institution, and to have a closer look at the wide assortment of snow groomers.

Introduction on the Opening Evening
On the opening evening PRINOTH® received customers, many of whom had travelled long distances, as well as journalists with an interesting evening program. In order to have all the guests in one large hall, the company's own cafeteria was used for the event and fine South Tyrolean specialities were served. Following the greeting by Sales and Marketing Director, Dr. Andreas Lambacher, the brand new PRINOTH® product video of the Husky was shown, as well as a film about the distinguished Drivers Trophy, which meanwhile has become the European championship for driving snow groomers. The swinging duo, “Die 2 lustigen 3”, took care of the musical entertainment with their unique music instruments before the shuttles returned to the hotels late in the evening.

The Sales Day
On Saturday at 9:00 am, the doors to the PRINOTH® factory in Sterzing-Unterackern opened punctually for the used vehicle fair. The response of the more than 300 visitors has never been as great. Visitors from the entire world showed their interest in the used machines, especially the customers from the up-and-coming countries of Eastern Europe. Representatives from all noted professional trade magazines also took part in the event, evaluated the track equipment, observed the buyers and tried their luck in the various games. A selection of more than 80 used machines of various brands, models, price categories and from four different ”levels of revision” were for sale. Nowhere else can prospective buyers find this variety and quality of used machines side-by-side at one location. The majority of the machines were updated before sale and furnished with the first class PRINOTH service, which guarantees the best after sales service in the world. Besides the range of snow groomers, more than 10 used SNOWSTAR® snow cannons enriched the extensive product range. LEITNER® Ropeways was also represented with an information booth. Competent specialists from the entire Leitnergroup® were available at all times when there were queries about selecting the right product for their ski regions or learning the technical details.

Tour through the Production Halls
During the day of the fair, tours through the PRINOTH® and LEITNER® production halls were offered once again in English, German and Italian. Numerous visitors took part and were exceptionally enthusiastic about them.

The Social Program
On Saturday, not only machines were there for examination and purchase. An interesting and entertaining social program provided an enjoyable atmosphere. The visitors tested their talents with the two popular games, “Hot Wire” and “Labyrinth”,  therefore having not only had the chance to win one of the beautiful prizes, but at the same time they also got to become more familiar with the manoeuvring of a Husky or an Everest Power. In the end, a Slovakian customer won a used machine by a nose in the big auction. It was not the usual sort of auction because at specific intervals the price was not raised but reduced, which made everything even more exciting. Last but not least, every fair visitor received a lottery ticket at the entrance and at 1:00 pm the lucky number was drawn.

During the day, all catering needs were well taken care of. Early in the morning there was a bountiful breakfast and in the afternoon an elaborate buffet with a great variety of specialities so that after the draw, the visitors could head for home well fed.


CONCLUSION: The PRINOTH® Used Vehicle Fair 2005 was, all in all, certainly a big success, both for the company and its employees and for the many visitors, who said that next year they definitely want to come again.

Last but not least, the sales that were finalized also confirmed that this was the right way – more than half of the machines on sale were sold.
