Falls Creek´s CEO JOHN SCHRYVER is pleased to announce the appointment of
David Plant as Mountain Manager for Falls Creek Ski Lifts. Long range snowfall forecaster predicts medium to heavy snow in June With less than less than 60 days to the official start of winter at Falls
Creek the proverbial question "when is it going to snow"? is now being
asked. He's predicting the alpine resort will get a heavy dump (16-18 June) of 36cm
and upwards and that June will be an Above Average Snowfall Month.
David comes to Falls Creek from Mt Baw Baw, where he has been Ski Area Manager
for the last five years. Davidıs duties at Baw Baw included managing all
elements of the on-mountain operations as well as project management and
participating in budgeting and planning processes of the resort. Prior to
joining Mt Baw Baw David had diverse experience within the tourism and
recreation industry including research work for a variety of organisations
including the Alpine Resorts Commission on land use patterns within the ski
fields.
Wangaratta-based John Moore who 'sells' his long range snowfall forecast to
clients such as Falls Creek Resort Management is predicting medium to heavy snow
in June, with a medium fall (Moore's definition of medium is between
16-35cms) between 8-10 June, which would be the "icing on the cake"
for the start of the winter season for snow-related businesses such as Falls
Creek Ski Lifts.
