Architektur der TalstationNew LEITNER bicable gondola for the Passo Tonale (IT)

As of the 2004/2005 winter season, a fine ropeway experience will be available in the form of a LEITNER bicable gondola linking the Passo Tonale with the Passo Paradiso. The new system will operate with modern 15-passenger gondolas that will cover the 734 meters of vertical in just over seven minutes – time enough to enjoy a bird’s eye view of one of the most beautiful corners of the Alps.
The order for the new CA15-S2 gondola has been placed by Paradiso SpA, with construction work due to begin in April 2004. The line runs parallel to the existing Ceretti & Tanfani ropeway, which is now in its last season of operation, but it is significantly longer. The new bottom terminal is located on the Tonale highway at 1850 meters above sea-level, with the mountain terminal at 2587 meters. Following an initial period of operation at slightly reduced capacity, the line length of 2203 meters and rated speed of five meters per second will give the new bicable gondola a system capacity of 1800 person per hour.
