Avoriaz/ France: New 2006/2007
• December 2006: opening of the Trashers snowpark. Reserved for kids from age 5 to 12, Avoriaz will open this snowpark situated right by the apartment blocks, served by a small draglift, and consisting of mini-woops, banked corners, mini-kicks and mini-boxes. Aimed at the youngest freestylers, the Trashers snowpark will be unique in Europe for this age group.
• December 2006: opening of the Chaux-Fleurie 6-seater chairlift. Avoriaz is continuing its programme of modernising its equipment by improving the access to Châtel. Hourly passenger flow: 3000, length: 1150 metres with a total vertical climb of 417 metres. This equipment will be completed by the installation of snow cannons over almost 2 km, meaning that the Grand plan ski-run can open earlier and offer better conditions for this indispensable link with Châtel.
• In December 2007: opening of the Combe chairlift. Avoriaz will update the services for its ‘big ski’ area by installing a 6-seater high-speed detachable chairlift leading to the top of the Crozats and Combe black runs. Hourly passenger flow: 3000, length: 2000 metres for a total vertical climb of 760 metres.

Over the past 40 years, the resort has taken care to keep its place at the top,
illustrating its inventiveness, modernism, foreward thinking, and basic flair,
always remaining ahead of visitors’ expectations…
As far as innovation, attractiveness, and adapting to market forces are concerned, Avoriaz has kept its position as leader, a quality that singled it out from its very birth…
Certainly, its initial impetuousness has been replaced by a certain wisdom and today, careful thought has the upper hand over enthusiasm: at 40 one is mature…But it has never lacked in imagination, its creative streak has never been silenced and yesterday’s futurist remains avant-garde to this day…
After 40 years, innovation in snow sports and integration with its environmental backdrop remain its creed, themes which are more than ever hot topics in currant affairs…
