KANDAHAR SLALOM G.A. AGNELLI COURSE LIGHTING

The lighting system by the Kandahar Slalom G.A. Agnelli course has been completely renovated in order to guarantee the compliance with the digital TV requirements as well as to increase the course brightness up to about 1400 lux. The light effect obtained is comparable to the one of the indoor venues, that host sporting events to be shot on TV. The G.A. Agnelli course was lighted up first in 1994 to host the first Night World Cup, which is regarded as an unforgettable date as Alberto Tomba won one of his many races on that occasion. (*)

DOUBLE BLACK PARK EXPANSION

The Vialattea snowpark named Double Black Park and located by the Rio Nero deep valley has been supplied with a new area for beginners with suitable equipment and facilities. The most experienced snowboarders will have the chance to try the new kick and rails and measure themselves against the most daring acrobatics. Also a new special snowpark ski-pass will be available at € 22,00, which will allow you to reach the park and ski all day long; you will be able to reach the park from Sauze d’Oulx (chair-lifts Sportinia, Rocce Nere, Basset and ski-lifts Chamonier and Rio Nero Sauze) as well as from Sestriere (ski-lifts Baby, cable car Col Basset, chair-lift Basset, chair-lifts Capret and Trebials).

COURSES IMPROVEMENTS

The cuorse 78 in Sansicario underwent major changes to make easier the connection between the arrival area of the new chair-lift Ski Lodge Sellette and the Soleil Boeuf area. As some course stretches were really steep and difficult, we made some changes to make the course suitable for less experienced skiers as well.

In the Sauze d’Oulx skiing area many improvements were carried out on the course in co-operation with the Municipality. By the 16bis course, which connects the Sportinia area with the Sarnas one, some changes were made to make it suitable for beginners as well. Course 11 bis, which connects the low part of course 11, of course 29 and the Gran Pista, has been opened again and made compliant with the current safety requirements, thus allowing the skiers to repeatedly climb up through the Sportinia chair-lift.The low area of course 30, which connects Clotes to Sauze d’Oulx and runs along the summer path, was widened and made suitable for beginners as well. Also the course stretch that ends by the Clotes area has been widened by the Hotel Capricorno, just where the low course 11, low course 29, 2000 and 30 meet.

In Claviere the bottom of the courses coming from Col Saurel has been improved, in order to allow the course usage also under poor snow conditions.

PLANNED SNOWMAKING SYSTEM

Thanks to the expansion of the planned snowmaking system net carried out in the last few years as well as to the newly built lifting facilities, all the areas in the Italian side of the Vialattea covered by the planned snowmaking system are ski-connected.
