Diedamskopf: Criticism of Falzerkopf-planning
The Silvretta Nova-Bergbahnen want to extend the ski region of the Falzerkopf. The planned two new 6-man chairlifts have met criticism from enviromnental protection groups.
The Falzerkopf project was first presented in 1999. The application for approval has now been submitted. The project should greatly improve the ability of the area to compete for guests and would add an extra 45 kilometres of ski pistes. Managing director Klaus Nußbaumer argues that carvers and snowboarders simply need more space on the pistes. Nature conservancy lawyer Philipp Meusburger fears damage to the area by ropeway pilons as well as the use of 12 hectars of, until now, untouched land.
The Nova-Bergbahnen aim to realise this 12 mill. Euro project within the next 3 years.
