Bousquet For Sale
The owner plans to continue operating the ski area until a buyer is found.
Looking to retire after 26 years at Bousquet, owner Sherry Roberts has placed the Pittsfield ski area on the market. Located just south of the city, Bousquet is one of the oldest ski areas in the country.
Roberts inherited the ski area after her long time partner, George Jervas, passed away in August 2012. Jervas had acquired the ski area in 1981 and made it a four season operation, including a water park. Citing declining health, Jervas placed the area on the market in 2007 for $3.2 million. The current listing with Stone House Properties is also $3.2 million.
The 750 vertical foot ski area is served by three double chairs installed between 1962 and 2004. The area features snowmaking and night skiing. The 155 acre property had a tax bill of $61,896, according to the listing.
Bousquet is the third small Western Massachusetts ski area facing a sale in recent years. The ownership of Ski Butternut acquired Otis Ridge in December 2016 and Ski Blandford in September 2017.Source: "NewEnglandSkiIndustry.com"
