| Monterosa Ski and Johnson Controls Neige, a stronger partnership Monterosa Ski, the ski area operator located in Val d’Aosta - IT, has contracted with Johnson Controls Neige for the works on the snowmaking installations of Champoluc Ciarcerio and Antagnod. The project mainly covers extensions of snowmaking system, as well as operations of performance optimization of existing facilities. On the Champoluc Ciarcerio area, a new snowmaking lake built at the top of the installation will allow a complete retooling of the snowmaking operations. The 140 000 m3 lake will lead to the modification of the pumping stations and machine rooms of the installation. A new machine room connected to the lake will feed the snowmaking water supply system, with 4 pumps to begin with. In the near future, part of the water supply system will be gravity feed, thus restraining the use of pumps. This new operation mode will allow the operator to make savings on his energy consumption. A new trail will also be created on this area. It will be fully equipped with new Rubis Evolution, the latest product of Johnson Controls Neige. On the Antagnod area, the 2010 operations mostly cover work into the machine rooms, in order to improve the management of water resources of the installation. An additional 1500 meter trail will also be put in place, equipped with 20 Rubis Evolution. Monterosa Ski runs 6 sites in Val d'Aosta, Antagnod, Brusson, Champoluc, Gressoney Saint Jean & La Trinité, as well as Alagna. Monterosa Ski and Johnson Controls Neige collaboration dates back to 1991 when JC Neige was awarded the construction of Champoluc Crest and Champoluc Ciarcerio snowmaking systems. |
