Demaclenko & Engadin St. Moritz Mountains AG: Working together to achieve optimum all- round support

Klenkhart & Partner planning office finally provided the latest progress update on the construction project involving the Lej Alv natural reservoir in St. Moritz.

The construction of the reservoir is undoubtedly one of the most important projects in the snow industry this year and, with Klenkhart & Partner, those in charge have top experts in this field on board. Together with Demaclenko, which is coordinating the entire project on site, a profitable partnership has developed between the companies, which complement and enhance each other perfectly.

After the planning office explained the technical details regarding Switzerland’s largest reservoir, it was up to Demaclenko to give interested parties an insight into the expansion of the snowmaking system. The Swiss Demaclenko team, under regional manager Rinaldo Kreuzer, explained the construction work and the individual steps of the construction phase which will be carried out this year. The interested parties were also able to see how construction is progressing on the pumping station, which will supply the snow guns with the necessary amount of water in the winter. As well as building the pumping station, we are also equipping Engadin St. Moritz Mountains AG with several powerful and energy-efficient snow guns.

The snowmaking system expansion project began as early as last year with the construction of the infrastructure.

The work on the current phase of the project is due to be completed by October this year, so that the reservoir can start to be filled, providing ideal conditions for the preparations for the 2017 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in St. Moritz.
