Fatzer AG: Noise emissions, modern cable cars

When comparing noise emissions, modern cable cars of today are significantly below the measured values of a bus or road traffic. Noise along the line only occurs on the masts and in the bottom and top stations.

The measured values on the new D-Line (Doppelmayr Seilbahnen GmbH ) 10-MGD gondola lift Söll-Hexenwasser once again confirmed that a ropeway system with perfectly matched components is ideally suited for use on urban ropeways and wherever vibrations and noise impair the well-being of passengers, residents and hotel guests.

In this case, an average level of 53 dB(A) was measured directly on mast 6, while at a distance of 12 metres on the ground the average level was only 43 dB(A).

Since rules for level calculations are based on logarithmic calculation, a difference of 10 dB corresponds to the attenuation factor to one tenth of the original value (-3 dB = half).
