MND: Huy cable car / Belgium - the cabins have been installed

The 3 km long haul rope was spliced on site. The two suspension cables had already been laid a few weeks earlier so that the cabins could be installed immediately after their arrival on site by the partner Calag from Switzerland.

"We know how much the residents love the cable car. The arrival of the cabins and their installation are very important moments in the implementation of this project, which will be very attractive for tourism in our town," commented Eric Dosogne, acting mayor of Huy.

For Christophe Collignon, Walloon Minister for Housing, Local Authorities and Urban Development and Acting Mayor of Huy, this is "the important conclusion of a project that was supported by the majority in Huy."

The cable car, which connects the Batta district to the Plaine de la Sarte (above the Wall of Huy) via the Fort de Huy, will soon be in operation and will allow visitors to explore the city while enjoying a breathtaking view of the river and the surrounding area.
