Mt. Ashland: An Update on the Chairlift Replacement ProjectMt. Ashland statement We’d like to share an important update about a project that will impact all of us. Beginning in the spring of 2027, work is scheduled to begin on the replacement of Windsor Chairlift with plans for Ariel Chairlift in 2028. While we had hoped to complete the project sooner, Mt. Ashland Association was not able to raise the necessary funds in time for a 2026 replacement. We still need to raise $1.87 million for Windsor, and every contribution brings us one step closer to making this project a reality. Mt. Ashland Association is asking for your help. This is a historic moment for our Ski Area, and we cannot complete this project without the support of our beloved community. As a Community Ski Area and Nonprofit, it is our goal to keep winter and summer recreation as accessible and affordable as possible. Our revenue goes directly into paying our employees a livable wage, keeping up with ever increasing operational and insurance costs and funding smaller updates. Mt. Ashland relies on donations to fund Capital Projects like the Chairlift Replacements And the time to donate is now. The Karen & Sid DeBoer Foundation has generously pledged a $500,000 matching contribution towards the replacement, providing our community with an opportunity to double the impact of donations made toward the project. Mt. Ashland is more than a ski area. It’s a place to reconnect with nature, spend time with loved ones, challenge ourselves, and build community. For many of us, it’s where some of our favorite memories were made. We are incredibly fortunate to have this community asset in our backyard. The opportunity to preserve it for our children, grandchildren, friends, and neighbors is something worth fighting for. The reality is that replacing Windsor Chairlift is essential to Mt. Ashland’s future. We can’t afford to wait any longer. Thank you for standing with us, for believing in this community Ski Area, and for helping to ensure that future generations can experience the same joy, adventure, and community that Mt. Ashland has given all of us. |
