Bartholet: New 4-Seater Chairlift Opens at the End of the WorldUshuaia, Argentina - End of the World. In Ushuaia, Argentina's southernmost city, known as the "City at the End of the World", a new fixed-grip 4-seater chairlift has successfully entered operation. The installation serves the ski area over a route length of approximately 1.4 kilometres and connects the valley and mountain stations in around eleven minutes. As the winter season begins in the Southern Hemisphere, the new chairlift was commissioned in time for the start of the season, creating ideal conditions for a successful winter operation. The project also presented the team with considerable logistical challenges. Travelling from Switzerland to Ushuaia takes around 30 hours, the equipment was in transit for approximately eight weeks, and parts of the construction site were difficult to access.
