LEITNER ropeways are setting new trends in many regions of Europe

One highlight is the new 10-seater “Trysilgondolen” gondola lift in Trysil, Norway’s largest skiing area, which is the first facility with LeitPilot in Scandinavia. The lift reaches an operating speed of 6.5 m/s and is designed for an impressive capacity of up to 4,000 people per hour. It features Premium Diamond EVO X-LINE Deep cabins, which offer a high level of ride comfort and plenty of space. The concept is complemented by 20 event cabins equipped with lighting and tables. The facility sets new standards for efficiency and reliable operation, with LeitPilot for autonomous station operation, the energy-efficient LEITNER DirectDrive, and special weights in the cabins for increased wind stability. The project is part of the long-standing. successful and close collaboration between LEITNER and the operator SkiStar.

In Finland, LEITNER’s new 6-seater “Iso-Syöte Express” chairlift injects major momentum into the modernization of the popular ski area in the North of the country. Thanks to the integrated bike transport solution, energy-efficient LEITNER DirectDrive and compact station design, the facility can be used all year round and significantly expands the services on offer in both winter and summer. This makes Iso-Syöte even more attractive for day visitors from the nearby city of Oulu as well. This modern facility is LEITNER’s first project in the multi-award-winning skiing area and is intended to facilitate the next stage of development and establish Iso-Syöte as a leader in infrastructure in the long term. The ropeway is technically impressive, stretching approximately 1 kilometer, with 57 chairs and a capacity of up to 2,800 passengers per hour in the final version. Its high capacity, quiet operation, and all-weather reliability ensure greater comfort, shorter wait times, and simple access to central pistes.

The new Getvalsliften surface lift complements the existing services in the Swedish Ski World Cup resort Åre.

The new 10-seater “Côte Brune” gondola lift was put into operation at the start of the season in the Méribel-Mottaret skiing area, in the heart of the Les 3 Vallées ski region. It replaces an existing 4-seater chairlift and significantly improves access in a central zone of the skiing area. With an operating speed of up to 7 m/s, 50 cabins, and a route length of about 2 kilometers, the facility enables fast journey times and a continuous flow of passengers. An additional material transport cabin is supporting the technical team. Passengers also benefit from weather-protected transport, a smooth ride, and an overall more reliable connection.

The new 6-seater “Aiguille Percée” chairlift by LEITNER represents another milestone in modern mobility in the Tignes winter sports resort. Waiting times in the French skiing area have been noticeably reduced thanks to its capacity of up to 3,000 people per hour. The lift climbs around 300 meters in altitude over a distance of around 1 kilometer. The 44 chairs travel at up to 6 m/s and ensure a smooth, continuous flow of passengers. The gearless drive provides low-noise, resource-saving operation, supporting Tignes’ aspiration to be a high-performance, sustainable winter sports destination.

The “Bois Joli” surface lift in the French winter sports resort of Font-Romeu Pyrénées 2000 is designed as a compact facility. The lift reaches an operating speed of 2.5 m/s, and has a final capacity of 900 people per hour.

In the Slovakian ski area of Štrbské Pleso, the new 8-seater “Interski - Medvedia Kopa” chairlift is driving forward major developments in mobility. The modern facility improves access to central piste areas and provides high-performance, comfortable and reliable operation. The lift climbs 190 meters in altitude over a distance of more than 1 kilometer and transports around 2,400 passengers per hour at speeds of up to 5 m/s. With its elegant gold-colored design, the facility is a visual highlight and is the first ropeway with a Pininfarina station in Slovakia, Czechia and Poland. Premium chairs with seat heating, leather upholstery and wind stabilization ensure a particularly comfortable ride.

With the commissioning of the 6-seater “Alexandros” chairlift, the Anilio skiing area in north-west Greece is taking an important step towards modern ropeway infrastructure. The nearly 1-kilometer-long system reaches an operating speed of up to 5 m/s and has a capacity of 1,500 people per hour, making transport noticeably more comfortable and efficient for winter sports visitors. Transporting passengers from 1,650 to 1,806 meters above sea level, the new chairlift optimizes the movement of people through the ski area, enhancing its long-term appeal. At the same time, the new “Anilio” surface lift provides targeted access to other pistes.
