Mad River Glen: Closing documents on the parcel of land adjacent to the ski area signed

On Tuesday, February 24th representatives from the Mad River Corporation, Stark Mountain Foundation and the Mad River Glen Cooperative met in the original footprint of the Basebox to sign closing documents on the parcel of land adjacent to the ski area - affectionately called the 20th Hole. 

This milestone would not have been possible without the leadership and partnership between the Stark Mountain Foundation, the Cooperative Board, Mad River Glen staff and volunteers whose shared commitment to conservation and community stewardship made the transaction possible.

The acquisition protects terrain that is integral to the Mad River Glen experience, ensures long-term stewardship, continued recreational access, wildlife habitat protection, and alignment with the Cooperative’s founding vision — safeguarding the character and independence that define the mountain experience.

As the Cooperative continues its 30th anniversary year, this achievement stands as a testament to what can be accomplished when shareholders, donors, nonprofit partners, and neighboring landowners work together around a shared vision.
