Chile’s First Gondola in Valle Nevado Ski Resort

Offering access to the largest skiable terrain in South America, Valle Nevado Chile, is a world class destination for skiers and snowboarders from all over the planet.  While this incredible resort has always offered a number of outstanding amenities and superb mountain transportation, it’s got some new features that are sure to make this year’s visitors happier than ever.  With a new gondola, service center, meeting salon and upgraded amenities, Valle Nevado is a destination every skier and snowboarder must experience.

Valle Nevado is proud to offer its visitors the first ski resort gondola in Chile.  With 70 cabins holding 6 passengers each, the gondola can move 2,000 passengers per hour.  At an 1.2 kilometers in total length, it travels at a speedy rate of 7.5 meters per second, providing riders with a quick and convenient way to reach the Bajo Zero restaurant at mid-mountain from the new day visitor parking lot and service center below.

Curva 17 Parking Lot & Service Center:
If you’ve been to Valle Nevado in the past, you’ll notice a few other changes next time you visit.  For one, there is a new parking lot and service area that can accommodate 500 vehicles for day visitors. The lot and service center is located at “Curva 17″, just below the resort’s main entry area.  The new parking lot and service area are aimed at dispersing traffic and making it easier to get on the slopes. The center will have ticket sales, ski and snowboard equipment rentals, ski and snowboard class sign up area, and a new restaurant.

In addition to the gondola and parking area, the resort will open its gymnasium as a new sports & entertainment center to hotel guests, offering a climbing wall, skate ramp, ping pong, and other activities. The resort’s new meeting salon will open over the Hotel Tres Puntas, and here there will be a wine fest every Thursday afternoon with live music. All of this is part of Valle’s $150 million master plan that will eventually develop the base into a mountain village.
