FIS & PRINOTH: A Weekend for Perfect Slopes

From September 27 to 29, 2019 two FIS conferences took place, which PRINOTH accompanied as an expert in park and slope preparation: the FIS Course Builder & Designer Clinic and the FIS Nordic Seminar.

Before the FIS World Cups of the winter, around 100 international professionals used the two seminars to exchange experience and knowledge, and discuss the development of winter sports disciplines such as Freestyle, Freeski and Nordic Combined.PRINOTH will once again play a decisive role as technology leader in the 2019/2010 winter season.

FIS Course Builder & Designer Clinic:

PRINOTH's Data Competence Crucial for the Upcoming World Cup Season

For the sixth time already, PRINOTH hosted the "FIS Course Builder & Designer Clinic" at the company's headquarters in Sterzing and at the Stilfser Joch. The Freestyle Skiing Conference focuses primarily on the planning and implementation of challenging and safe World Cup courses. Thanks to innovative solutions such as the SNOW HOW technology from PRINOTH and Leica Geosystems, great progress has been made in recent years. PRINOTH's digital snow depth measurement and visualization is an integral part of the upcoming FIS World Cup. "PRINOTH's X fleet is the first choice for slope preparation in snow parks. Supported by our SNOW HOW software, the operator is able to create perfect courses in a shorter time as he can rely on precise data from the actual terrain and build the course relying on the information shown on the display, located in the snow groomer cabin. It guarantees accuracy and efficiency during the development phase and daily maintenance," says Andreas Muigg, Head of Product Management at PRINOTH.

During the hands-on session, the participants of the clinic were able to experience actual athlete training situations up close on the Stelvio glacier because the seminar took place during the training sessions of the PRINOTH X Camp. The X Camp was planned and realized with the help of state-of-the-art snow measurement software. This technology offered freestyle and freeski athletes an early season setup in a class of its own. The FIS representatives were able to get a first-hand impression of the requirements for a course during the construction and competition phase.

First FIS Nordic Seminar in Seeboden on September 27 and 28, 2019 in Partnership with PRINOTH

Delegates from various World Cup Organizing Committees for Cross Country, Nordic Combined and Ski Jumping came to Seeboden in Austria on September 27 and 28 to find out about the latest FIS topics, attend lectures on various aspects of event organization and, last but not least, get to know their fellow competitors and exchange knowledge and experience. The climate context for major events was also an important topic at the FIS seminar in Seeboden. Riikka Rakic discussed the possibilities of sustainable competition organization using the example of the World Championships in Åre. Alex Galvan from PRINOTH presented the latest trends in sustainable and efficient slope technology. Other topics of the Nordic Seminar included "Data protection regulations with a focus on events" and the "FIS Digital Platform with its possibilities for World Cup organizers".

PRINOTH & FIS: A Strong Partnership

Both events were a complete success at all levels. "The FIS Clinic is an important part of our long-standing partnership with FIS. It offers us a great opportunity to exchange ideas among winter sports experts. We can therefore adapt to current trends - especially for the coming World Cup season, which PRINOTH will once more be supporting with the most efficient snow groomers and SNOW HOW technology", says Christian Nagele, Chief Sales Officer at PRINOTH.
