Tamarack honors ski industry legend as it welcomes new Resort President

TAMARACK, Idaho — Tamarack Resort honors an industry legend and announces a new President.

Ski industry veteran Jon Reveal served as Tamarack’s President for the past two years, playing a crucial role in the acquisition of the four-season destination in December 2018. Since then, Reveal has overseen resort operations, including installation of the Wildwood lift and operational improvements which led to a double-digit increase in skier days this past season.

Reveal is now returning to his roots and his passion as the new Director of Skiing at Tamarack where he'll continue in the footsteps of his lifelong friend and mentor Warren Miller. In his new role, Reveal will lead efforts to elevate the experience of the Tamarack sports school.

“The workload these past two years has been intense and it’s rewarding to see the fruits of those efforts in the new Wildwood terrain and growth of The Village,” Reveal said. “I look forward to making my mark on the sports school and paying forward the knowledge and passion I have for skiing to help it grow here in Idaho and across the West.”

The resort is honoring Reveal’s extensive contributions to the industry by naming Tamarack’s sports school the ‘Jon Reveal Ski & Sports School.’ A formal celebration and dedication will occur at the start of the 2020/2021 season, anticipated in December 2020.

Long-time Idaho government affairs professional Scott Turlington will take the helm as the new President of Tamarack, bringing a depth of leadership, business, and economic development experience to his role in guiding the resort’s future growth and expansion.

“Scott’s history with Tamarack and deep knowledge of Idaho make him a strong leader for the resort as we look to the future and focus on realizing the vision of this master-planned, resort destination,” said Kyle Mowitz, Tamarack Resort managing partner.

Turlington was an executive at Tamarack when the resort opened in 2004 and left in 2007 to begin his government affairs consulting business.

As president, Turlington’s priorities will be to oversee all resort operations, the completion of the Village at Tamarack, the Lake Cascade marina development and further expansion of the resort’s terrain.
“We have a talented and dedicated team at Tamarack that I’m excited to join in this new role” Turlington said. “I’m especially honored to follow in the footsteps of an industry giant like Jon Reveal.”

“Tamarack’s ownership has laid out bold initiatives for the resort and this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to lead the team that will make these things happen. I look forward to building upon our great working relationships with Valley County and the State of Idaho, including the Governor and all the members of the Idaho Land Board of Commissioners,” he said.
