TechnoAlpin photo competition 2021 – meet the winners

The 2020/2021 TechnoAlpin photo competition has now closed, and we can report that we received many photos from Snow Heroes all over the world. This year we put the spotlight on the Snow Heroes in the ski areas. The ski areas would look very empty without the snowmakers which is why we are all the more pleased to have received photos from almost 50 different ski areas in almost 20 countries. We were delighted to receive so many entries for the competition.

Entrants were invited to send photographs in between December 2020 and January 2021 showing snowmakers at work with a TechnoAlpin product or service to be in with a chance of winning one of our great prizes! The first prize was a TechnoAlpin 30th Anniversary Package consisting of a cap, a T-shirt, a sweater and sunglasses, all from the “30th Anniversary” collection. The runners-up in second and third places were happy to win the TechnoAlpin ski jacket and gilet!

The 2021 winners

The criteria by which the judges assessed the photos and picked the three winners were creativity, innovation, aesthetics and content.

Once again this year, the first prize went to Switzerland. Daniel Walker won with a photograph of two TechnoAlpin fan-based snow guns – one tower-mounted and one mobile – taken at night in the SkiArena Andermatt.

Second place went to a photo of two Snow Heroes at work with an MMS. The photo was sent in by Karl Kristian Alasi of Estonia. He took the photo in the ski area of Vimka-Viimsi Mäepark near Tallinn.

Swedish-born Linn Olérs won third prize. She is seen happily posing beside a snow gun at Kläppen Ski Resort.
