Copper Mountain Resort: Proposal to replace Lumberjack chairlift

The Dillon Ranger District of the White River National Forest is soliciting comments on a proposal from Copper Mountain Resort (CMR) to replace the existing Lumberjack chairlift. The project includes moving the top terminal approximately 600 feet uphill and extending the access road, power line and snowmaking to that location as well as constructing the Middle Roundabout Bypass trail to improve beginner ski terrain accessed from the chairlift. All projects, except the new Lumberjack chairlift bottom terminal which is located on private property, would occur on National Forest System (NFS) lands within CMR’s existing Special Use Permit (SUP) area and operational boundary and are consistent with CMR’s 2011 Master Development Plan (MDP).
