White River National Forest approves trail improvements at Frisco Nordic Center

The White River National Forest approved the construction of additional winter and summer trails at the Frisco Nordic Center in Summit County.

“We’ve been working with the Frisco Nordic Center for the past several years as they improve their trail system to be better suited for a wider variety of trail users year-round,” said Dillon District Ranger Adam Bianchi. “This is the second phase of new trails. It follows our 2019 approval of the first phase, which is now largely completed.”

Under this second phase, the Forest Service approved 1.3 miles of new winter trails and 4.6 miles of new summer trails on National Forest System lands. Additionally, 2.1 miles of existing summer trails on National Forest System lands would be upgraded.

The Frisco Nordic Center operates winter and summer trail systems across both National Forest System and Town of Frisco lands at the Peninsula Recreation Area adjacent to the Town of Frisco.
