Snowbird: New Arial Tram Cabins

The Shape of Things to Come.

After 50 years of a job well done, it's finally time for the original Tram cabins to become literal "snowbirds" and enjoy some much-deserved retirement. In fact, the original Tram cabins have traveled 794,994 miles, or the equivalent of traveling to the moon and back over one and a half times during their lifetime. As Snowbird congratulates the original 1971 cabins on a stand-out career, 2 new cabins will arrive this spring to whisk guests to and from Hidden Peak, and into the future of the mountain. The new Tram cabins pay homage to the original Red and Blue Trams while incorporating a fresh, sleek design and a few extra bells and whistles.

Snowbird is beyond excited to unveil the new Tram cabins featuring floor-to-ceiling windows as well as a summer seasonal experience featuring glass floor panels and *drumroll please*... a rooftop balcony (the first of its kind in the United States). Guests can spread their wings and ride outside while the Aerial Tram climbs and descends from 11,000 feet with 360-degree views.

Coming Late June of Summer 2022

Features
  • You no longer need to be a Tram mechanic to ride on the roof- a balcony has been added on the top of the Tram for the summer months, with room for up to 15 people.
  • Floor-to-ceiling windows for uninterrupted breathtaking views of the mountain and Salt Lake Valley.
  • During the summertime, take a glimpse of the mountain below through 3 sections of 3' x 3' glass floor panels for a thrilling ride to the top every time.
