Georgia: Sharing perspectives for the future of mountain development

On the occasion of the 2023 Freestyle ski and Snowboard World Championships, hosted in Bakuriani (GEO), from Feb. 19th to March 5th, TechnoAlpin along with other ski industry leaders, Doppelmayr and Pistenbully, organized a 2-day conference in Georgia for ski industry representatives from Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

On Feb. 21st and 22nd, this very successful event gathered 30 + high level representatives from ski resorts from Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Ukraine, as well as the deputy minister in charge of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable development of Georgia, in Tbilisi and Bakuriani.

The purpose of the conference was to discuss the latest trends in ski industry technologies, in light of the new challenges faced by ski resorts, to share perspectives for mountain regions' equipment, winter business, and also to address future development plans in the South Caucasus region.

Last but not least, for TechnoAlpin, with the ongoing FIS Freestyle ski and Snowboard championships in Bakuriani, this was really the perfect time and location, to showcase its latest snowmaking technologies. Indeed, all the snow for the 2023 World Championships is exclusively produced by TechnoAlpin equipment. Over the course of this event, the delegation of ski resort operators had the opportunity to attend the Parallel Slalom team race on Feb. 22nd, and get a glimpse at the 30 km snowmaking system build by TechnoAlpin last year in preparation of the World Championships.

All in all, for the participants to this event, this has been a very rich time for discussion with leading companies from ski industry, exchanging ideas, discovering new technologies and also not forgetting the less formal part of the event, enjoying some of the finest delicacies offered by Georgia.
