Record year for the HTI Group

The HTI financials for 2022 show the highest revenues in the company's history. In 2022 the group recorded sales of 1.3 billion euros, exceeding the level achieved in 2019 before Corona crisis by 247 million euros. Investments in research and development also grew as part of the group’s strategy. HTI President Anton Seeber: "Our growth focuses on four values: innovation, diversification, internationalization and sustainability!"

Sterzing, April 2023 - The HTI group of industrial companies is operating on a global scale in the areas of ropeways (Leitner, Poma, Bartholet and Agudio), snow groomers, crawler carriers and vegetation management systems (Prinoth and Jarraff), snowmaking and dust binding systems (Demaclenko and WLP), digitalized ski area management (Skadii), wind energy (Leitwind) and recently also hydropower (Troyer). Currently almost 4,300 employees work for the HTI group, spread across 20 production sites, 84 subsidiaries and 144 sales and service offices worldwide. Investments in research and development have grown to an all-time high and now exceed the 35-million-euro mark, while 28 million euros were spent on fixed assets in the same period. In 2022 the HTI group was once again successful in competing globally – maintaining a strong market share within Europe and North America and adding new sales in Asia and Central and South America.

A proven strategy lead to the sales growth that Anton Seeber, who has been at the helm of the group since 2016, summarized as a focus on key values: "The result achieved is in line with the group’s mission to ensure sustainable growth, a goal which determines our daily actions. For years we have been following a path characterized by values essential for each HTI company:  innovation, diversification, internationalization and sustainability. To achieve these objectives, we rely on exceptional employees worldwide and a very strong team spirit."

The recent acquisitions of the HTI group, the US company Jarraff (tree trimming machines) as well as Bartholet (in the ropeway sector), contributed to the strong growth. An additional factor for the exceptional business results of 2022 was, a record number of newly installed ropeways in the USA. The year 2022 was marked by other significant events and projects for HTI: the inauguration of Europe's longest urban ropeway in Toulouse, the completion of the second prototype of a hydrogen-powered snow groomer and the market launch of the first electric snow groomer, in addition to important innovations in maximizing energy efficiency in ropeways and snowmaking.

With the new 250 and 500 kW wind turbines from Leitwind, the HTI group offers a concrete and pragmatic solution to renewable energy communities that require generating and distributing wind energy close to consumers.

The group is also committed to increase its own generation of renewable energy. The installation and operation of photovoltaic plants at most of its European production sites allows to potentially produce  2,300 MWh per year of electricity. With its recent entry of HTI in Troyer (manufacturer of hydropower products), the group rounds off the portfolio in the field of renewable energy. News comes also from Skadii: new applications in the digital ski resort management platform can ensure energy savings and greater efficiency.

Looking ahead to 2023, three major ropeway projects are nearing completion: the second line of Mexicable 2 in Mexico City, the second line of the municipal ropeway in Santo Domingo (DomRep), and the completion of the "Alpine Crossing" ropeway system from Zermatt (CH) to Cervinia (I) – a 3S gondola lift that will allow to cross the Alps at the foot of the Matterhorn and connect 365 days a year Switzerland with Italy.
