Gore Mountain Announces Capital Improvement Projects for the 2025/2026 Season

With the 2024/25 Winter Season in the rear-view mirror and our sights set on next winter, the staff here at Gore Mountain have already begun what will be a Spring, Summer, and Fall filled with projects aimed at improving operations and the guest experience. From routine maintenance and repairs to new and continuing capital projects, Gore Mountain continues to evolve.

re happy to officially announce that we will be replacing the Topridge Triple Chairlift this summer. The current Topridge Triple will be replaced with a Skytrac Fixed Grip Quad lift. This new lift will follow the same footprint as the current lift but will increase the total uphill capacity. Removal of the current Topridge Triple has already begun with the installation of the new lift following this summer and completion scheduled ahead of the 2025/26 winter season.

Routine maintenance and repairs will also be completed on many of our lifts including the replacement of the haul rope on the Straight Brook Quad. This will fix the issue we have had this past season that required us to load every other chair during periods of high traffic – we thank you for bearing with us through the issue and are excited to run that lift at full capacity next winter.

re constantly working on updating our snowmaking infrastructure to continue improving our ability to make snow to both keep the season going as long as possible and provide a great snow surface for our guests, while also improving the sustainability and energy-efficiency of our systems. This off-season we will be primarily focusing on replacing aging snowmaking pipe across multiple trails including Twister, Echo, and both Upper and Lower Sleighride. This new pipe is needed to replace pipe that is beyond its normal life expectancy so we can focus on making snow rather than having to make repairs during the season as they arise. This new pipe is also larger – providing for increased water capacity to boost our snow production. General repairs and maintenance are also ongoing across the mountain to ensure our system is ready and fully operational by the winter season.

Another important project is the construction of an additional parking lot to increase our parking capacities and improve guest access. This parking lot is planned to be installed this summer below lot G on the access road (pending approvals) and will add up to 375 new parking spaces.

dition to these new projects, progress continues on the final phases of the Noth Creek Ski Bowl project. Crews working on the new Ski Bowl Lodge are making great headway and the doors are currently on track to open by the 2025/26 winter season. This new lodge will include additional seating space, a retail shop, and a year-round, full-service restaurant and bar. Construction is also slated to begin this summer on the zip coaster. This new, one-of-a-kind attraction will combine the thrill of a mountain coaster with that of a zipline as you transition from rail to cable while travelling up and down the mountain. The zip coaster is planned to be operational starting in the summer of 2026.

Gore Mountain teams are excited to be working on all these projects and to continue evolving Gore Mountain into a premier year-round destination in the southern Adirondacks.
